1 lb. sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
2 T. all-purpose flour
1/4 C. butter, divided
1 large onions, chopped
1/2 C. beef broth
1/2 C. heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
2 C. mushrooms, sliced
1 tsp.Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
8 oz. thick flat noodles (we like pappardelle)
Instructions
- Dredge meat in flour.
- In a skillet, melt 1 T. butter over medium heat; saute onions and mushrooms until tender. Remove from pan; set aside.
- Melt remaining butter and brown meat on all sides.
- Add cream, broth, basil, salt and pepper, Worcestershire sauce, mushroom and onions. Cook until mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Just before serving, stir in sour cream. Heat through, but do not boil. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately over noodles.
