Black Forest Oatmeal Drops

Ingredients
Cookie:
1 C. butter, softened
3/4 C. sugar
1/2 C. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 2/3 C. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 C. old fashioned rolled oats
1 1/2 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 C. (5 ounces) dried tart cherries, coarsely chopped

Drizzle:
2 C. powdered sugar (1 cup is actually more than enough)
1 to 2 tsp. Kirsch (clear cherry brandy) or apple juice
2 to 3 T. water

Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350. Combine butter, sugar and brown sugar in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add flour, baking soda and salt. Beat until well mixed. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and cherries by hand.
  2. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.
  3. Stir together powdered sugar and Kirsch in small bowl. Gradually stir in enough water for desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
