Ingredients
1 lb. chicken, cut into parts or choice cuts of breast, thighs of wings
2 medium sayote or chayote , diced
1/2 C. chili leaves oe spinach
3 C. water
2 T. ginger, roughly chopped
1/2 garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
2 T. oil
2 T. patis
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instruction
- In a medium pot, heat oil and saute garlic, onion and ginger.
- Add the chicken and saute for about 10 minutes.
- Add water and bring to a boil and then lower to a simmer. Cook for about an 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
- Pour in patis, salt and pepper to taste.
- Add in papaya or sayote, cook until tender.
- When ready to serve, put chili leaves. Serve over steamed rice.
